What is a Business?
A Business is an entity that owns and publishes APIs. A business generally includes multiple APIs, Developers, and Apps. The platform represents the Business.
Business Visibility
A Business can be defined as having public or private search visibility. The visibility setting determine whether the business appears in search results and whether users can see summary information for the Business, as described below.

The Business can only be seen in a search by:
- Users who have been invited by a Business Admin and who have accepted the invitation.
- Users who are part of a connected Business (invited by a Business Admin and the invitation accepted)

Feed & Detail View
- Only users with an explicit Connection to a Business will be able to view the details of this Business.
- Users that have an explicit Connection to the Business will see entries from the Business’s Board in their home Feed.
- Users that do not want to see these entries in their Feed can choose to hide them via their Feed configuration.
Business Connections
Any of the above Connections can be configured to be:
- Automated—Connection Requests will be automatically approved with no workflow.
- Approved—Connection Requests require administrator approval.

What roles can a Business Administrator perform?
A Business Administrator has Full Control to manage the following platform objects:
- Business (i.e., Platform)
- API
- API version
- App
- App version
- Group
Privileges for platform objects are managed in the Policy Manager instance where the Tenant is installed. The Full Control privilege supports the following actions:

Note: Site Administrators have some of the same privileges as a Business Administrator. For example, a Site Administrator can invite another user to be a Business Administrator. However, Site Administrators do not have other rights of a Business Administrator, such as privileges to add, edit, or delete apps and APIs in the business.

What are the components of the Business Admin page?
The Site Administration quick filter launches the Site Administration section. In the Site Administration > Business Adm. section, authorized Business Administrators can invite others to join the Business Administrator team.
Invite Business Administrators
The Invite More function allows
you to send invitations to individuals that you would like
grant Business Administration privileges to.
- Existing Business Administrators are displayed in a summary
listing.
- When you invite someone, the platform sends out a request email.
- The invitee also receives an invitation request on their Dashboard page.
- If the invitee is not a platform member, they must sign up using the same email address that the invitation is addressed to. They can then accept the invitation via their Dashboard page.
- The request email includes a link so that the user can click through to sign up for the platform if he/she us not already a member.
View Business Administrators
When a Business Administrator invitation is submitted, the username,
email address, and invitation status (i.e., Email Sent, Approved, or Rejected) of the invitee is added to the Business Admins
Summary.
Manage Administrators
A Business Administrator can remove
a Business Administrator from the listing.

How do I invite someone to be a Business Administrator?
The Site Administration > Business Adm. page includes a business administrator invitation function that
allows Site Administrators to send out invitations to individuals that they would like
to grant business administration privileges for the current platform deployment.
To invite someone to the business admin team:
- Click the Site Administration quick filter icon on the top navigation and select Business Adm. in the left navigation. The Site Admins page displays.
- Click Invite More. The Invite Administrators page displays.
- In the Email text box, enter the email address of individuals you would like to invite to your development team. Separate each email address with a comma.
- In the Add a Brief Message text box, specify the invitation text you would like to send to your invitees.
- After completing your entries, click Invite. The invitation email will be sent to the invitee.
- After the email invitation is sent, the platform will post an administrator invitation to the member's Dashboard. The invited platform member can then log into the platform to accept or decline the Business Administrator invitation.

How do I invite a non-member to be a Business Administrator?
If you have already received a Business Administrator invitation and are not currently a platform member, you must sign up to the platform using the email address that the invitation was issued to in order to accept the invitation. Currently only platform members can be invited to be Business Administrators. See Basics for more information.

How do I respond to a Business Administrator invitation?
If you receive an invitation via email to be a Business Administrator for the platform deployment you can accept or reject the invitation.
- You must be a platform member to be a Business Administrator.
- If you have already received an invitation and are not currently a platform member, you must sign up to the platform using the email address that the invitation was issued to in order to accept the invitation.
- If you are not currently a member, see Basics for sign up information.
To accept a Business Administrator invitation:
- Click the link in the Business Administrator invitation email, log into the platform, and go to your Dashboard page.
- Choose your Business Administrator invitation in the newsfeed.
- To accept the Business Administrator invitation, click Accept. The Accept this invitation text box displays. Enter a comment (if applicable) and click Confirm. The status changes to Invitation Accepted.
- To view administrators for the platform deployment, click the Business Administration quick filter icon on the platform top navigation and select Business Admin in the left navigation. The Business Admins page displays. Your username, email address, and Approved invitation status displays. You can also view a listing of other platform members that are Business Administrators.
To decline a Business Administrator invitation:
- Click the link in the Business Administrator invitation email, log into the platform, and go to your Dashboard page.
- Choose your Business Administrator invitation in the newsfeed.
- To decline a Business Administrator invitation, click Decline. The Decline this invitation text box displays. Enter a comment (if applicable) and click Confirm. The status changes to Invitation Declined.

How do I cancel a Business Administrator invitation?
Once an invitation is sent to an individual you would like to be a Business Administrator, the invitation itself
cannot be revoked. A platform member can choose to accept or decline the
invitation. If they choose to accept the invitation, you can remove the

How do I remove a Business Administrator who is assigned to the platform deployment?
Any Business Administrator can remove another Business Administrator from the platform deployment.
To remove a Business Administrator from the team
- Click the Site Administration quick filter icon on the platform top navigation and select Business Admins in the left navigation. The Business Admins page displays.
- Find the Business Administrator on the list and click Remove.
